10/20-Craven edges Well. Long wins 'race of her life' @ Pioneer Athletic Conference Champs

It came down to the wire in the boy's varisty race at the 2004 Pioneer Athletic Conference XC Championships. Owen J. Roberts senior Austin Craven and Boyertown sophomore Jason Weller both crossed the line in 16:10. Craven was awarded the win by a step and helped the Wildcats to their second straight PAC 10 Championship team title. But the boys weren't the only ones flying at the Daniel Boone Homestead. After three years of coming so close, Perk Valley senior Brittany Long ran the race of her life and finally won the girl's varsity race, running 19:42. She just managed to pull out a win over St. Pius X freshman Steph Fulmer, and Upper Perk junior Kristen Reed. Long helped the Lady Vikings capture a close team race, winning 70-71 over St. Pius X, with Boyertown girls getting 74 for a close third.
