SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Mother Nature continues to throw the Slippery Rock University baseball team a wicked curveball.
The Rock's home doubleheader vs. Washington Adventist University scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions at Jack Critchfield Park and has not yet been rescheduled.
Friday's Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division doubleheader against Clarion, originally scheduled to be played on the Golden Eagles' home turf, is now set to be played at Critchfield Park. The opening pitch is still scheduled to be thrown at 1 p.m., Rock head coach
Jeff Messer announced Monday.
The Rock and Golden Eagles will also play Saturday's 1 p.m. twinbill in Slippery Rock.
SRU, which will be idle until Friday, seeks to end a five-game losing skid when it takes on Clarion. The Rock currently owns a 6-10 overall record and an 0-4 PSAC-West mark.
The Golden Eagles, meanwhile, take a 1-3 overall record into a Wednesday doubleheader at Pitt-Johnstown. The weekend series against The Rock will be Clarion's first division action of the season.
