Shauna Walker was named Tuesday as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division softball “Pitcher of the Week.”
Walker compiled a 2-0 record, struck out 12 batters, walked two and allowed nine hits in 12 innings last week en route to recording shutout wins over 18th-ranked C.W. Post and NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rival Fayetteville State in the Rebel Games in Kissimmee, Fla.
Behind her lead, The Rock won five of eight games during their annual spring-break trip.
The Rock is scheduled to return to action Friday, when it will take on Virginia State at 1 p.m. and West Virginia State at 5 p.m. in opening-day action of the Salem Invitational in Virginia.
SRU is scheduled to play its first home games March 23, against Wheeling Jesuit. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
