FINDLAY, OHIO—The Slippery Rock University softball team split a two game series at Findlay on Wednesday. The Rock dropped the first game 8-0 in five innings, and came back strong with a 6-5 win in the second game. The Rock is 9-6 overall.
In the first game,
Lindsey Grace pitched in four innings and earned the loss, striking out three and allowing 13 hits and five runs. Grace holds a 3-4 record this season.
Natalie Atkinson and
Jordan Zeunges made up The Rock's offense with Atkinson recording a double, and Zeunges going 2-2 with a walk.
In the second game,
Shauna Walker picked up the win pitching in seven innings with three walks, 11 hits and allowing four runs. Walker holds a 4-1 record this season.
Zeunges went 2-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Jenna Geibel went 2-3 in the game, and Atkinson went 1-3, hitting her second double for the day and scored a run.
The Rock will play at least one game each day from March 24 to April 3, with the exception of March 31.
Thursday marks the opening of a three-game home stand for The Rock, facing off against Wheeling Jesuit. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. at the SRU Softball Complex.
