LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Slippery Rock University junior right-hander
George Hebert was named Monday as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division "Pitcher of the Week."
Hebert, who hails from Midlothian, VA., and a graduate of Clover Hill High School, tossed a four-hit complete game last Friday to lead The Rock to a 4-1 win at Gannon. He struck out eight and walked two en route to his fourth win in five outings this spring.
Hebert is the second Rock baseball student-athlete to be honored by the conference in as many weeks. Freshman third baseman
Jamison Walck was the PSAC-West "Player of the Week" for games played the week ending March 21.
As a team, The Rock owns a 13-11 overall record and a 7-5 PSAC-West mark.
The Green and White return to the diamond Tuesday, when they will travel to Mansfield for a 1 p.m. PSAC interdivisional doubleheader at Shaute Field.
The next Rock home game is Friday at 3 p.m. (note change in starting time) against Indiana (Pa.).
