With the 2025 XC season coming to a close very soon we have sat down and started to discuss the awards for the top athletes across the state and the best coaching staffs across the state. We will be announcing the best freshman-senior and first-honorable mentions with 7 athletes being on each side for the all state teams. We will also be announcing the best team on each side and the best coach on each side.
We are starting by announcing the best overall coach. This coach is the head of both his girls and boys teams and led them to fantastic seasons on both sides.

The winner of the coach of the year for PA throughout the XC season is Brian Fleckenstein of Norwin. I had the time to talk to coach Fleckenstein at NXR this past week him and give him the news in person and this is what he had to say about the honor.
"Being selected as coach of the year is a great honor for myself and the program and I'm very happy to be chosen. I'm very proud of this program from top to bottom from our middle school the whole way through our high school. We have the best coaching staff in the state that are super invested in both running and, more importantly, the development of these young men and women as people. Every day we put on that uniform and show up to practice we try to do our best to represent our school and community in the state of Pennsylvania and we just cherish the fact that we get to do this and be involved in this great sport and this great running community. I personally would like to thank all of my assistant coaches, each and every athlete that is a part of the program and the parents that helped truly make this a family atmosphere at Norwin XC."
Coach Fleckenstein led his girls team to a AAA State title in dominant fashion with just 54 points. A 94-point victory over 2nd place finisher, Downingtown West. He also led his boys team to a 7th place finish at the state championship.
