Vote: PA Athletes of the Week (Dec 29th- Jan 4th)

Being a few weeks into the indoor season, we are finally back to athlete of the week nominations, and with this past week being one of the craziest we have seen in a while, we can't think of a better week to start on.


This Week's Boys Candidates:

Abaas Hunter (Episcopal Academy) - Abaas opened his season this weekend, and the wait was well worth it. He dropped a new US #2 and PA #1 time of 47.86 over 400m and set a new indoor pr.

Jonathan Wert (Garnet Valley 01) - Wert has been on a tear this whole year, running inside the U.S. top 25 every time he races, pretty much. Jonathan ran 21.81 to win The La Salle Winter Series - Boys Sprint Night and a 2nd place finish over 60m with a 6.90.

Frank Bediako (Bensalem 01) - Bediako opened his season in the sprints at The La Salle Winter Series - Boys Sprint Night with a win in the 60m with a time of 6.89 and a 2nd place finish in the 200m with a time of 21.83.

Olo Kolade (Downingtown West 01) - Olo opened his season over 200m and ran his 2nd 400 of the season at The La Salle Winter Series - Boys Sprint Night, where he placed 2nd in the 400m with a time of 48.21 and 3rd in the 200m in 21.86.

Justin Landis (North Penn 01) - Justin dominated the RJBIC 3000, winning by 27 seconds and posting a new PA #2 time of 8:44.87.



This Week's Girls Candidates:

Michaela Poland (Penn Charter) - Michaela posted a new PA #1 time over 400m with her insane 56.50 at The Upper Dublin Winter Series - Girls Sprint Night.

Molly Weitzman (Downingtown West 01) - Molly posted 2 insane times at The Upper Dublin Winter Series- Girls Sprint Night with her win and new PR of 200m in 25.14, and her 2nd place finish over 400m in 56.68.

Madelyn McCartney (Emmaus 11) - The AAA cross country state champ showed why she won a state title this past week with her insane 3k time at The 11th Annual Ocean Breeze Freedom Games, a 10:04 time to win the meet.

Ava Cavanaugh (Episcopal Academy) - Ava placed 3rd at the Upper Dublin Winter Series - Girls Sprint Night over 400m with a new PA #3 time of 56.70, just .20 seconds behind PA #1.

Julia Natitus (Dallas 02) - Julia raced at 2 meets this past week, once at Ocean Breezes Holiday Festival and twice at Upper Dublin Winter Series - Girls Sprint Night. She ran a PA #1 at the time, now PA #5 in the 400 with her 56.86, and at Upper Dublin, she ran a PA #3 time of 25.33 over 200m and PA #4 in the 60mh with her time of 8.89.
