LEWISBURG, Pa. – Three Red Raiders set NCAA provisional qualifying marks during a strong weekend of competition for the men's outdoor track and field team from the Bucknell Outdoor Classic and Distance Carnival held on Friday and Saturday from Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.

Shippensburg thrived in the 5K on a frigid Friday night, as all six competitors who ran recorded season-best efforts and PSAC qualifying performances. The best mark was recorded by junior Sean Stetler, who picked up an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the invitational meet with a time of 14:32.95.

Junior Bryan Beegle, a former PSAC champion in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, set an NCAA provisional qualifying mark with a time of 9:21.9. Fellow junior Josh Hostetler continued to grow stronger in the javelin with an NCAA-provisional qualifying throw of 201 feet, 2 inches.

In all, 21 Red Raiders achieved season-best times or marks in their respective events.

SU will be in competition next weekend at the Kutztown University Multi Meet.
