LEWISBURG, Pa. – Four school records went by the wayside during a strong weekend of competition for the women's outdoor track and field team from the Bucknell Outdoor Classic and Distance Carnival held on Friday and Saturday from Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.

The 4x800-meter relay squad of senior Mary Dell, junior Abby Huber, junior Emily Dubs and sophomore Neely Spence posted a stellar time of 9:02.85 that broke a 16-year-old school record and the all-time PSAC record. Katie Kearney, Sandy Novak, Jen Bonstein and Tammy McClanahan set the original mark of 9:07.63 back in 1994.

Out in the field, junior Steph Harrison unleashed a hammer throw of 169 feet, 5 inches that set an NCAA provisional qualifying mark and broke a three-year old school record. Megan Schweighofer set the previous record in 2007 with a throw of 165 feet, 1 inch.

Freshman Megan Breski, who earlier this season had tied Stacey Wilcher's five-year-old record in the pole vault of 10 feet, 11.75 inches, continued her steady progress with a career-best mark by clearing 11-feet, 1.75 inches.

On the track, junior Erica Hess set an NCAA-provisional qualifying mark in surpassing her own school record in the 400-meter run, posting a time of 55.51 seconds. Hess's old record was 55.68 seconds.

Sophomore Amanda Raudabaugh came close to Dell's school record in the 800-meter run, achieving an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:10.83. Dell and Spence recorded NCAA provisional marks in the 1,500-meter run with respective times of 4:35.54 and 4:37.10.

In all, 20 Lady Raiders achieved season-best times or marks in their respective events.

SU will be in competition next weekend at the Kutztown University Multi Meet.
