SALEM, W. Va. -- The Slippery Rock University softball team reached the 20-win mark for the sixth straight season Monday as it swept hosting NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rival Salem International by 9-0 and 22-0 scores in a non-conference doubleheader.

The wins gave SRU a 21-16 overall record this season, which equals the Green and White's final win total from a year ago.

The 22 runs scored the highest single-game run total by The Rock since 2008 when they defeated Salem International, 22-5.

Shauna Walker picked up her 10th win of the season pitching a complete game allowing two hits with one strikeout and a walk.

After a 1-0 lead entering the third innings, The Rock picked up four consecutive doubles from Sheree Horvath, Jordan Zeunges, Whitney Warmus and Natalie Atkinson. Each player picked up an RBI in the inning as well.

Kirsten Brant started to fourth inning with a home run to push the lead to 6-0 when Shardea Croes and Warmus both doubled with two more runs scoring to give SRU the 8-0 lead.

Kendra Kutz doubled in the top of the fifth and would later score when Brant singled a batter later. The Tigers recorded a hit in the bottom of the fifth, but could not score ending the game 9-0.

In the second game, Shaylee Ianno picked up the two-hit complete game with four strike outs.

The Rock picked up 12 runs and 10 hits in the first inning of the second game. SRU batted around the order almost a full two times within the inning. Lise Couturi was pulled by the Tigers after facing seven batters in the top of the first allowing six earned runs with five hits and two walks.

Jenna Geibel hit a three-run home run in the top of the second and Brant added a two-run home run in the top of the third. Jessica Kortz tripled in the top of the fourth and scored on a passed ball to end the inning and a 22-0 win.
