Tedesco earns PSAC weekly honor

Tiffany Tedesco was named Tuesday as the PSAC Female Track Athlete of the Week for her performance at last weekend's Ed Fry Invitational.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Slippery Rock University sprinter Tiffany Tedesco was named Tuesday as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week.

Tedesco led The Rock women's track and field team at last weekend's Ed Fry Invitational, hosted by Indiana (Pa.) University.

The junior sprinting standout picked up wins in all three of the short-sprinting events Saturday, topping the field in the 100-meter, 200-meter and 4x100-meter relays.

Tedesco won the 100m with a time of 12.26 seconds, just off the top mark in the PSAC this season, which she also owns.

She then picked up the win in the 200m, an event in which she also holds the top mark in the PSAC, with a time of 25.52 seconds.

Tedesco was joined by Allison Smith, Amanda Seigworth and Rachel Knapp en route to winning the 400-meter relay in a time of 49.07 seconds.

The Rock will send select athletes to the elite Penn Relays from April 22-24 in Philadelphia, while other members of the team will split between meets at Ashland and Baldwin-Wallace April 24.
