SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Juniors
Laura Henzy and
Amanda Dubs of the Shippensburg University women's track and field team were recently honored with the Jack A. Mildred Prince Squires Scholarship through the John L. Grove College of Business. The award, open to all seniors within the college, is a full year's tuition.
Henzy, who is majoring in supply chain management while seeking a minor in mathematics at Shippensburg, has qualified for the 400-meter dash and 4x400-meter relay at the upcoming PSAC Track and Field Championships scheduled for May 13-15 at West Chester University.
The Langhorne native has twice been named an All-American in the 4x400-meter relay and holds school records in both the indoor and outdoor versions of that event. In all, Henzy has been a 12-time PSAC place-winner and has earned All-PSAC honors five times.
Following last year's outdoor track and field season, Henzy was named a member of the 2009 USTFCCCA All-Academic Team. She also holds a 3.81 grade-point average.
Dubs has set numerous personal bests for Shippensburg while primarily running sprints for the Lady Raiders. This season, Dubs has qualified for the 100 meters at the upcoming 2010 PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, to be held May 13-15 from West Chester University.
This year marks the second-straight year that a Lady Raider has received the Jack A. Mildred Prince Squires Scholarship. Senior volleyball middle blocker
