WEST CHESTER, Pa. - An impressive 10K performance by sophomore
Sarah Strayer slotted Shippensburg into sixth place after the first day of the 2010 PSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships from Farrell Stadium on the campus of West Chester University.
On a chilly evening, Strayer posted a time of 37:49.17 to earn Shippensburg two crucial points in the standings. Strayer entered the night as the PSAC's No. 10 seed but improved her season-best effort by more than 25 seconds by maintaining a consistent pace throughout the race.
Friday's competition in the multis begins from West Chester around 9:30 a.m. before field events start up at noon. Preliminary qualifying begins on the track at 1 p.m.
