1/22-Great Valley continues success at Yale Classic on Day Two

Great Valley continued their success up at Yale on Saturday in multiple events, highlighted by Janessa Murphy taking second in two events. She ran a 7.22 in the 55 meter dash behind Stacey-Ann Smith of Bloomfield, who ran a 7.16. Janessa ran a 7.21 in the semifinals. Coach Paul Hadzor commented on how the snowy conditions outside affected her races. "They were speeding up the meet. She ran all her races in less than an hour time span." She also competed in the long jump, jumping 18-04.00 behind Natasha Harvey's 19-8.25. In the 3000 meter run freshman Kristen Golen ran a 10:46.26 for 11th place and her teammate Alison Ridington was 27th in 11:15.49. In the boys competition Domenic Aversa tied for second place in the pole vault with a jump of 12-06.00. The competition was won in 14-00.00 by Jordan T hull from East Lyme. Also, in the 3000 meter run Dan Addis was 80th in 9:56.95. The 3000 was won by Kevin Treadway of Colonie in 8:58.51.

Coach Hadzor also updated us on the boys' performances in the DMR and 4x800 on Friday night. The DMR was their first event on Friday night, and they ran a 10:52.03 even though their anchor fell on the last lap. They had to run the 4x800 after the DMR because they missed their earlier section due to midterms. They still turned in a performance of 8:24.38.
