CHARLOTTE, N.C. --
Amanda Seigworth became the third member of the Slippery Rock University women's track and field team to earn All-America honors Saturday evening at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
Seigworth broke her own school record in the 400-meter hurdles, placing sixth with a time of 59.23 seconds. Her previous record of 59.27 seconds was set in the preliminary round of the event Thursday night.
“Amanda had a great meet,” said head coach
John Papa. “All together, our ladies put together a pretty nice championship meet this weekend.”
Seigworth, who also placed 19th in the 100-meter hurdles at the national meet (14.48 seconds), is the third member of The Rock team this season to earn All-America honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The honor is the second of her career, but the first as an individual, accompanying her accolades as a member of the 4x400-meter relay last outdoor season.
Seigworth joins
