Lions Track and Field Close Out MAC Championship Meet

Final Results

CHESTER, Pa. – The Albright Track and Field team closed out the 2010 Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track an Championships with eight more All-Conference honors on their way to an 9th place and 8th place finish respectively Saturday afternoon at Leslie C. Quirk, Jr. Stadium.

Earning first team honors was the women's 4x400 relay team of Shannon Loos, Meghan Loos, Danielle DiPietro, and Taylor Kutz who finished third with a time of 4:10.70. On the men's side Oshane Rennie earned a bronze medal in the 110 meter hurdles, with a final time of 16.02 seconds.

Taking second team honors was Kutz in both the 100 (13.32) and 200 (27.27) meter dash with back-to-back 6th place finishes. The women's 4x100 relay team placed fifth after recording a time of 50.88 seconds, which was just 53 hundredths of a second off the program record. Rennie also claimed second team honors in the 400 meter hurdles with a 5th place finish and a time of 57.54 seconds.

Clark Runciman was also a second team all-conference honoree after placing sixth in the pole vault with a leap of 12-11.75 feet. Earning a fourth place finish was Daniel Simmons in the long jump with a final mark of 21-06.25 feet.

Also competing Saturday afternoon was Shannon Loos in the 400 meter dash, as she finished in seventh place with a time of 1:02.35. In the 1,500 meter run Erika Snyder earned 17th place with a time of 5:24.67, followed by Gabby Stine in 22nd place with a time of 5:35.35.

Kim Hummel recorded a 12th place finish in the very long 5,000 meter run with a time of 20:10.58. Long jumpers Mackenzie Miller and Shannon Loos finished in 8th and 14th place respectively with jumps of 15-09.50 and 13-11.75 feet.

The men's 4x100 relay team took seventh as Rennie, Simmons, Justin Gewirtz, and George Cook recorded a time of 47.43 seconds. Recording a combined time of 3:41.82 in the 4x400 relay was Rennie, Gewirtz, Runciman, and Simmons to finish in 10th place.

In the final event of the day for the red and white, Jordan Fegley placed 12th in the javelin with a throw of 153-04 feet.

Track and Field will now wait to see if Gewirtz's NCAA “B” cut in the high jump will earn him a trip to the NCAA Division III Championship meet in Berea, Ohio.
