DELAWARE, Ohio --
Ryan Sullivan won the men's 10,000-meter run, leading a trio of Allegheny runners who placed 1-2-3, on the first day of the North Coast Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Ohio Wesleyan.
Sullivan's winning time was 33:05.24. He was followed by teammates Jakeb Zimmerman (33:18.55) and
Patrick McLaughlin (33:19.57), who finished second and third, respectively.
Taylor Throckmorton qualified for the 400 final. His preliminary time was 49.43 seconds, which was bested by only Ohio Wesleyan's Silas Jolliff (:49.39).
Andrew Mahone (1:55.33) and
Mike Vlah (1:56.47) placed third and fifth, respectively, during the 800 prelims to qualify for the championship race.
After Friday, the Gators are in fourth place with 24 points. Ohio Wesleyan leads the way with 53 points, Wabash is second with 38.5 and Wittenberg is third with 28.
