Butler Wins Javelin, Symoniak Second In 10K At Gator Invite

Final Results

MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Lauren Butler was the lone first-place finisher for the Allegheny women's outdoor track field at the Blue and Gold's fourth annual Gator Invitational. Butler won the javelin with an NCAA Division III provisional toss of 137 feet, 2 inches (41.81 meters).

Mia Symoniak was the runner-up in the 10,000. She clocked in with a provisional 36:45.58. In the 400, Beth Muller tied for eighth with a time of :58.59.

Five different facility records were broken at the meet.

Jessica Thomas of Notre Dame (Ohio) set a new mark while winning the 100 high hurdles in :14.70. Capital's Jessica Starks ran the fastest women's 100 ever at Fuhrer Field, clocking in at:12.04. During the 3,000 steeplechase, Kimberly Wallace of Baldwin-Wallace set a new record with a time of 10:45.10.

Buffalo State's 4x100 team also set a track record, finishing their win in :47.87. Team members were LaToya Edwards, Taniqua Hollingsworth, Imani Richardson and Erica Johnson.

In the field, Wheeling Jesuit's Emily Taylor set a new discus record. She finished with a distance of 153-6 (46.78m).
