Track and Field Duo Nab USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Ryan Hanson and Tony Dipre capped a strong athletic campaign with additional plaudits for academic excellence as the duo earned All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday.

Graduating this past spring with degrees in Neuroscience and Psychology, Hanson achieved a perfect grade point average in his senior year and completed his undergraduate studies with a cumulative GPA of 3.82. Hanson ran a personal-best of 3:53.76 in the 1500m in the spring of 2010, before adding a NCAC individual title in the same event at the conference's outdoor track and field championships.

Dipre enjoyed a sparkling year in the Blue and Gold highlighted by a third-place finish in the mile at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. Also boasting a dual major, Dipre is seeking degrees in Religious Studies and Neuroscience while maintaining a 3.78 cumulative GPA. A three-time All-American in cross country and track, Dipre, who was also an ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA All-District selection this past year, has one year of eligibility remaining for both the indoor and outdoor seasons. At the 2010 NCAC Championships, he shattered the conference record in the indoor mile with a time of 4:10.84.
