SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University and the community of Slippery Rock are teaming together to support National College Color Days this week in preparation for The Rock's home football opener Thursday night.
College Color Day is set for Friday nationwide, but SRU and the town of Slippery Rock are extending the event to include Thursday.
All students, faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to wear green and white Thursday and Friday. All individuals wearing The Rock's school colors will receive a 10% discount at the SGA Bookstore on campus. Participating local businesses will also offer various discounts over the two-day event to all patrons wearing green and white.
The headlining event of College Color Days will be The Rock's 2010 football opener against Merrimack Thursday night. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
