GREENSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 4) – The Waynesburg University men's cross country team put together a strong performance at the SHU Griffin Classic, which was hosted by Seton Hill University on Saturday.
The Yellow Jackets placed third out of seven teams competing in the race and were led by freshman Jonathan Blatt, who was the team's top overall finisher for the second-straight race. The Huntington, W.Va. native crossed the finish line in 30:09, which was good for a 10th-place overall finish.
Junior Kam Schaefer placed 12th overall with a time of 30:22, while freshman Justin Angotirounded out the top three Jacket finishers with a 14th-place time of 30:31.
The Waynesburg runners return to competition on Saturday, Sept. 11, when they host the annual Waynesburg Invitational at the Green County Airport. The men's race is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
