4/2-Despite cold and rain, top athletes show flashes of the season to come at Bruce Dallas Inv @ CV

Half the registered teams cancelled their visit to the 4th Bruce Dallas Invitational because of the threatening weather. With a brief delay at the start because of a crack of thunder, the meet began with a soaking 4x800. Manheim Township was looking for a quick time, and did their best, leading off with Brad Miller in 2-point. But by the time anchor Craig got the baton, anything under eight minutes was out of reach. Their 8:11.44 was impressive, especially considering the driving rain and biting cold.

Cumberland Valley won both team competitions over District 3 and Mid-Penn rival Central Dauphin. CD was led by Ryan Whiting, taking the Shot Put with a throw of 56-07, and the Discus with a toss of 160-11. He's been over 190 in a dual meet, and is looking to crack the 200 barrier at next weekend's Arcadia (CA) Invitaitional. CD ran a fast 44.99 4x100 late in the day, when it was raining less, but windier and colder than earlier in the meet. Cumberland Valley's David Stonfer won the 400 in 51.52, while teammate Kristen Jones was a double victor, going 16.88 (prelims) and 51.20 in the Hurdles.
