SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Senior forward Katie Krouse scored the only Rock goal off an assist from senior midfielder Allie Hartman in the 63rd minute of action Wednesday afternoon but it wasn't enough to lead the Slippery Rock University field hockey team to victory.

Visiting Mercyhurst (2-5, 1-0) scored one goal in each half of action to record a 2-1 win over the Green and White in action on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

Senior goalie Lisa Belcastro recorded three saves for The Rock, which will host Bellarmine (Ky.) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in its next game.

The Rock outshot Mercyhurst by a 26-9 margin and had a 15-1 advantage in corners, but could not convert the opportunities into points.
