WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Led by #George Cook# and #Bob Kellert# the men's cross-country team recorded their first team championship of the season, as they placed first at the Wilkes University Colonel XC Classic Saturday afternoon.

Cook, who has been recovering from injury for most of the fall placed second with a time of 27:11.80 on the 4.8 mile course. Kellert trailed his teammate by 31 seconds as he placed fourth overall with a time of 27:42.80. Taking the individual championship for the men's meet was Delaware Valley's Thomas Porter who recorded a time of 26:33.20.

Also racing on Saturday was #Eli Frey# who finished seventh overall with a time of 27:45.20. Jon Weber closed out the meet in 16th place with a time of 28:51.60. #Sam Marcotte# crossed the finish line in 22nd place with a final time of 29:20.00.

#James Guischard# and #Connor Unger# were the next two runners to cross the finish line for the red and white. Guischard finished in 26th place with a time of 29:56.60, and Unger in 34th place with a time of 32:10.00.

On the women's side, #Kim Hummel# led her team with a third place finish. The junior runner closed out Saturday's meet with a time of 23:03.40 on the 3.5 mile course. #Gabby Stine# finished in 13th place with a time of 25:21.30, and newcomer #Lauren Centafront# ended the day in 27th place with a time of 28:37.20.

Cross-Country returns to action next Saturday when they host their annual Homecoming Meet at the Berks County Recreation Facility. The women's meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., followed by the men at 11 a.m.
