Blogs from The Rock Homepage
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University athletic department has launched a new blog initiative to enhance its official Web site, www.RockAthletics.com, and bring fans a new and exciting view into SRU athletics.
Blogs from The Rock, which officially launched Friday with the first blog entry, is the product of a collaborative effort between the sports information department, the athletic department and the athletic development office.
Over the next few weeks, a blog homepage will be created for every sports team at Slippery Rock, accompanying the Sports Information Blog that launched Friday.
Coaches from each team will have the opportunity to update the blog as often as they choose, providing behind the scenes looks at what is happening with each of their programs. Coaches may also allow their student-athletes to write blog entries.
The Sports Information Blog will act as an umbrella for all things SRU athletics, covering alumni news and notes, exciting things currently happening on campus and incorporating submissions from fans. The Sports Information Blog will be updated at least once a week.
Fans can submit their interesting stories, facts, news and notes via a simple online form that is available on the Blogs from The Rock homepage. The homepage can be accessed via clicking the button titled 'Blogs' on the right side of the page at www.RockAthletics.com.
For those individuals that are new to blogging, the Blogs from The Rock will take on a different look and feel from the traditional news releases posted on the Web site. The blogs will be more informal and will include personal insight from the writers.
Bob McComas, sports information director, kicked off the blog initiative Friday by posting
the first blog entry to the Sports Information Blog. The first entry includes details about former SRU student-athletes and coaches and information about things happening on campus this week.
In the coming weeks, new links will be added to the Blogs from The Rock homepage to direct fans to blogs from each sport at SRU.
