Cross-Country Looking to Make Impact at MAC's

Tournament Website

READING, Pa. – With their biggest meet of the year scheduled for tomorrow the Albright cross-country teams know that they will have to be at their best, as they compete against some of the top runners in the region. Luckily head coach Eric Galossi has put together two rosters that should do just that in Doylestown.

On the men's side, the red and white are hopeful that senior Bob Kellert and junior George Cook will lead the pack. Throughout the season, Kellert has been one of the most consistent runners for the Lions. Cook, who had to battle back from injury, has once again returned to his competitive form and is looking for his second straight top-10 finish.

Also making an impact tomorrow should be senior Eli Frey, who has a top-5 finish to his name this season. James Guischard and Jon Weber have both shown continued improvement throughout their sophomore seasons and will look to add some points to the Lions cause. Newcomer Sam Marcotte should be another top contender in his first collegiate championship appearance.

For the women's Kim Hummel has had a sensational year. In only her first season as a member of the women's cross-country team, Hummel has run away with three top finishes. Last Saturday, she paced her team to a first place finish at the Alvernia University Dual meet.

Joining Hummel will be senior Gabby Stine. Another strong runner, Stine has been a consistent finisher throughout the fall season, and will look to end her senior year with one of the Lions best times. Junior Mallory Ketterer, should also add depth to a women's roster that has been limited this season.

First-time MAC competitors Lauren Centafont and Mary Frederick will face their toughest challenge of their young careers, but should make an impact.

The men's meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., followed by the women at noon.
