LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Lock Haven University spoiled the Slippery Rock University men's soccer team's chances at winning the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference regular season title with a 2-0 win over The Rock Saturday at Hubert Jack Stadium.

Slippery Rock (11-6-1, 5-4-0 PSAC) would have claimed the regular season title and the top seed in the playoffs with a win, but now must wait for the outcome of Sunday's Gannon at Mercyhurst match to determine the fourth and final playoff seed.

Shippensburg defeated California Saturday, 4-3, to claim the regular season title and the top seed in the playoffs with 18 points. East Stroudsburg defeated Bloomsburg in overtime to claim the No. 2 seed with 18 points. Millersville tied West Chester to move into third in the conference standings with 16 points.

The fourth and final seed will be determined after Sunday's 2 p.m. match between Gannon and Mercyhurst. A tie or a Mercyhurst win would give Slippery Rock the No. 4 seed. A Gannon win would give Gannon the No. 4 seed. Mercyhurst has been statistically eliminated from the conference playoffs, despite being the No. 1-ranked team in the Atlantic Region.

LHU scored two goals in the second half and stymied The Rock offense to earn the shutout. The Bald Eagles finished the match with advantages of 13-9 in total shots, 7-4 in shots on goal and 9-8 in corner kicks.

Billy Pasukinis scored the game-winner for LHU in the 54th minute when he took a long pass from Kevin Wolfe and found the far post side netting behind Rock keeper Greg Blum.

The Bald Eagles added an insurance tally in the 71st minute when Kyle Fuerst converted off an assist from Martin Pletz.

The Rock had its chances as the game wound down, including multiple free kick opportunities just outside the box, but LHU's defense and keeper Chad Badorf were up to the challenge.

Badorf finished the game with four saves, all in the second half, to earn the shutout. Blum registered five saves, including two fully-extended diving saves in the first half that kept the game scoreless at the intermission.
