SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University field hockey team raised $600 during the month of October as part of the “Play for the Cure” initiative that honored breast cancer awareness month. All of the proceeds will be donated directly to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Slippery Rock raised money throughout the month by hosting 50-50 raffles, t-shirt sales, baked good sales and accepting flat donations during all five of its home games. The “Play for the Cure” campaign culminated with Slippery Rock wearing pink uniforms during its 1-0 win against Limestone College on October 30th.
