Alison Hindley
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University women's soccer captain Alison Hindley was named Tuesday to second team All-Region honors when the Daktronics Atlantic Region team was announced.

The Daktronics All-Region teams are voted on by the region's sports information directors. The Atlantic Region consists of all Division II schools in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The Daktronics All-Region honor is the first outright selection in Hindley's career. She earned Honorable Mention honors from Daktronics in 2008 and has been named to All-Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in each of the last two seasons.

Hindley, a senior from Cheshire, England, capped one of the most storied careers in Slippery Rock women's soccer history this season.

During her four-year tenure at SRU, Hindley led the team to four consecutive winning seasons with 10 or more wins, three trips to the PSAC playoffs and three trips to the NCAA National Tournament.

She finishes her career ranked fourth on the all-time scoring list at Slippery Rock with 78 points. She also ranks fourth in career goals with 34.

Hindley played up front for her first three seasons at SRU before moving back to the midfield this season. She still managed to produce, scoring three goals and handing out five assists.

She was named to second team All-PSAC honors for the third consecutive season after leading Slippery Rock to No. 3 in the final Atlantic Regional rankings. The Rock finished the season with a school record unbeaten streak of 15 games and posted a record of 14-3-5. Included in the 15 game unbeaten streak were ties on the road at No. 4 West Chester and No. 10 California (Pa.).

Hindley will be a candidate to earn All-Region honors from the NSCAA this season as well. That team will be announced in the coming weeks.
