CARY, N.C. – The Shippensburg University men's cross country team placed second at the 2010 Atlantic Regional Championships on Saturday morning from the WakeMed Soccer Park to earn its second consecutive trip to the Division II National Championships.
A dominant performance by Lock Haven gave the Bald Eagles the regional championship with 28 points, but the Red Raiders ran strong and totaled 49 points to earn the other national qualifying berth from the Atlantic Region. Edinboro was just seven points behind SU in third place.
Shippensburg entered this weekend's race ranked No. 6 in Division II and first in the Atlantic regional rankings. Lock Haven is right behind the Raiders, ranked No. 9 in Division II and second in the Atlantic regional rankings. Lock Haven is ranked No. 14 in Division II.
