The 2010 Albright football season was a rebuilding year for head coach John Marzka and his Lions. After dropping their season opener to Ursinus College in Shirk Stadium, the red and white rallied and recorded back-to-back wins to end their non-conference schedule with another winning record.

Once in conference play, Albright was handed two straight losses by Lycoming College and Wilkes University. Down but not out, the red and white once again rallied and won their next three games, defeating King's College (38-14), Widener University (35-27), and FDU-Florham (41-15). Unfortunately, the 2010 season did not end the way the Lions had wanted, as they dropped their final two games of the year to Delaware Valley College and Lebanon Valley College.

As a team, this season the Lions recorded 287 points and 3,680 total yards of offense on 623 plays. In the air, Albright threw for 2,067 yards on 152-of-251 passing. The run game, led by junior Josan Holmes, totaled 1,613 yards on 372 attempts. Defensively, Albright totaled 713 tackles, 31 tackles for a loss, seven sacks, 13 interceptions, and forced six fumbles.

Individually, junior tailback Josan Holmes had a sensational season as he led Albright's run game with 823 yards and 16 touchdowns. In the win over Widener University, Holmes became the program's all-time rushing touchdown leader. He finished with 100+ rushing yards in three games and rushed for three or more touchdowns in five games.

This season, the Lions showcased three different quarterbacks. Sophomore Adam Galczynski received a majority of the snaps as he threw for 1,179 yards and five touchdowns. Three receivers finished the year with 400 or more yards. Scott Pillar totaled 461 yards and three touchdowns on 26 catches. Sean Caldwell was second with 423 yards and five touchdowns on 27 catches. Senior Luke Wallace totaled 416 yards and one score on 30 catches.

Senior Rob Mancinelli led the Lions defense with 58 tackles, while junior Francis Hall combined for a team-best 5.5 tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks. Joe Arneth led Albright with three interceptions, and senior Eddie Mitchem recovered a career-best two fumbles.

The Albright field hockey team enjoyed one of the best seasons in program history under first-year head coach Meg Monahan. Its nine wins tied the program record for most victories in a single season.

Albright showcased tremendous growth and development on all levels under coach Monahan. After dropping their first two games of the season, the red and white won six of their next seven contests.

Included in that hot streak were four shutouts and a 2-1 overtime win over Immaculata University. The Lions' only loss in those seven games came at the hands of Cabrini College. After back-to-back conference losses to nationally ranked Lebanon Valley College and a tough Widener University squad, Albright returned to their winning ways, defeating DeSales University by a score of 1-0.

Not only did that victory get the red and white back on the winning track, it also gave freshman goalie Marguerite DeLucas her fifth shutout of the year, setting a new single-season record.

Unfortunately, Albright managed just two more wins in their final seven games. One of those victories was a 4-0 decision over the University of Scranton, which gave DeLucas her sixth and final shutout of the season.

Combined, the red and white totaled 33 goals and 28 assists for the year. Senior Gia Boscola led the Lady Lions with 14 goals and five assists, while Caitlin Feldman managed 10 goals and nine assists. DeLucas' rookie season was highlighted by 162 total saves and a 9-10 record overall.

The 2010 season gave a preview of many great things to come for head coach Pat Stanco and the men's soccer program. With another competitive schedule, the Lions held their own time and time again.

After going 2-2 through their first four games, the Lions hit their stride as they won their next three games. Another small setback in the form of a 2-1 loss to Goucher made the Lions even more determined.

With conference play just around the corner, the Lions crushed Penn State Berks 5-1 prior to traveling to Chester to face Widener University. Against the Pride, the Lions played a hard-fought match, and with the help of freshman standout Gibrilla Conde recorded a 1-0 conference victory.

Just four days later, the Lions recorded their third straight win, a 2-1 decision at Gettysburg College to improve to 8-3. Unfortunately, back-to-back losses to conference rivals Elizabethtown and Alvernia set the Lions back in the conference standings. The red and white did manage to bounce back, however, as they recorded a 4-0 win over Valley Forge Christian College in the pouring rain.

To close out the regular season, three of the Lions' final four matches were decided in overtime. Their first overtime match was at Lebanon Valley College, where the Dutchmen tied Albright 2-2.

Against a regionally ranked Arcadia University squad the Lions dropped a 3-2 overtime decision, while they suffered a 3-0 setback against 2010 national champions Messiah College. In their season finale, the Lions dropped an extremely tough 2-1 loss to Lycoming College.

As a team, this season the Lions totaled 34 goals and 18 assists. Conde was the team's leading scorer with eight goals, while freshman Shawn Murphy finished second with six. Tyler Waters tallied a team-best five assists. Junior Mark Yost had a sensational season, as he netted free-kick goals from as far back as 40 yards. The Lions' nine-win campaign and winning record were both firsts in more than a decade for the men's soccer program.

Albright women's soccer showed tremendous growth in 2010. Under the guidance of head coach Pat Stanco, the red and white had another competitive schedule, especially in conference play. Of the seven teams that Albright faced in conference play, three were both regionally and nationally ranked throughout the course of the season.

After a slow start to open the 2010 campaign, the red and white hit their stride in late September. Through eight games played, Albright suffered just one loss (an overtime decision to Delaware Valley College) while earning six wins and one tie. During that hot streak, Albright outscored the opposition 25-4.

Unfortunately, October proved to be an extremely tough month for the red and white. After the 3-0 win over DeSales on October 6, the red and white did not notch another victory until their season finale on October 30.

During that extremely tough stretch the red and white dropped two 1-0 overtime decisions to conference foes Alvernia University and Arcadia University. However, Albright did end their season on a winning note as they shut out Lycoming College with a 1-0 win.

In 2010 the women's soccer team scored a combined 31 goals while also tallying 16 assists. Junior goalkeeper Olivia Giuliano recorded 116 saves in 1,417 minutes of playing time. She also totaled four shutouts to earn her second all-conference selection.

Junior Katie Cooper proved to be Albright's top scorer as she totaled five goals this season. Sophomore Jordan Cassidy earned a team-best four assists and finished second on the team in scoring with three goals.

Under the leadership of interim head coach Mike Marks, the Albright Volleyball team had another solid year. With a solid core of veteran leaders, the Lady Lions shined both on the court and in the classroom.

Looking to begin a new chapter in the program's history, the red and white welcomed coach Marks to lead their squad in 2010. After a tough start, Albright began to improve in all facets of their game.

Their first win of the year came in dominating fashion as they blanked Wesley College 3-0. From there the red and white had their ups and downs, but showed tremendous heart every time they stepped onto the hardwood.

Once conference play began, fans truly saw what Albright volleyball was about. After suffering a loss to Messiah College, the red and white tore through Lycoming College to even their conference record at 1-1.

As the season progressed the Lady Lions continued to win key conference matches while also walking away with huge non-conference victories. Perhaps one of their biggest wins of the season came when they handed Washington and Jefferson College a 3-2 loss.

Albright would close out their final six matches with a 3-3 record, which included a 3-0 win over Penn State Harrisburg and Alvernia University.

In 2010, the Lions scored a combined 988 kills on 3,501 total attempts. They tallied 814 assists and scored 136 service aces. Defensively, the red and white recorded 1,610 digs and 134.5 blocks.

Leading the red and white this fall was senior outside hitter Danielle Ozment and senior setter Lauren Higgins. Ozment closed out her collegiate career as both the team's and the conference's top attacker with her 309 kills. Higgins's four-year career was solidified when she broke the all-time assists record at Albright. With 2,478 career assists to her name, Higgins's place as one of the top setters in program history should remain for years to come.

CROSS-COUNTRY
Middle Atlantic Conference Meet Finish:
Men – 8th / Women – 12th
NCAA Mideast Regional Finish: Men - 40th / Women – No Team Score Recorded

The 2010 cross-country season was another strong year for head coach Eric Galosi and his runners. Both teams showed tremendous perseverance and determination throughout the fall season.

The men's team ran away with two first-place finishes this season. Senior Bob Kellert had a solid year for the red and white as he record four top-10 finishes. Included in those performances was a first-place finish at the Alvernia University Dual Meet.

Another consistent competitor for the Lions was junior George Cook. Despite battling an injury most of the year, Cook still managed to record three second-place finishes. He also led the Lions at the conference championship meet with a 47th place finish.

On the women's side, junior Kim Hummel was sensational in her first year as a member of the cross-country program. In total, Hummel ran away with three first-place finishes and earned a third-place finish as well.

Joining her was senior Gabby Stine, who recorded the Lions' best finish at the Middle Atlantic Conference championship meet. Prior to the championship meet, Stine recorded three top-10 finishes.
