SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Former Slippery Rock University men's basketball student athlete Itay Levi died recently at the age of 24, according to Netanel Dahan, Hapoel Afula Head scout for Eurobasket Isarel.

Kevin Reynolds, Dahan reported Levi passed away "during a practice with his team Maccabi Be'er Ya'akov from the Israeli 2nd league."
Levi's death was also reported in a blog posted Thursday by Chad Timberlake on www.eurobasket.com.
A native of Rishon Le Zion, Israel, Levi averaged 4.5 points and 1.5 rebounds per game for The Rock in 2007-08, his only season with the Green and White. He played in 22 games, started four and scored a season-high 19 points in the season finale, an overtime loss to Clarion.
According www.eurobasket.com, Levi averaged 13.4 points and shot 55% from the field and 44% from 3-point range in 13 games this winter and 11.1 points per game a year ago for Maccabi Be'er Ya'akov.
