LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's indoor track and field team swept the first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference weekly awards of the season when Jason Jamieson and Cameron Daugherty were named PSAC Athletes of the Week in a release from the league office Tuesday.

For the first PSAC weekly awards of the season, all performances through Jan. 10th were eligible.

Jamieson and Daugherty swept the conference's first weekly awards with outstanding performances in Slippery Rock's only meet of the season so far, the Kent State Golden Flash Gala back on Dec. 10-11.

Jamieson was named Tuesday as the PSAC Male Track Athlete of the Week for his performance in the 800-meter run. The junior mid-distance standout posted the fastest time in the PSAC so far this season with a mark of 1:55.81. Only three other runners in the PSAC, one of which is teammate Kevin Jewel, have reached the PSAC qualifying standard in the 800m so far this season, marking by far the lowest number of qualifiers in any single event.

Daugherty was a lock to earn PSAC Male Field Athlete of the Week honors when he posted the best mark in the nation during the pole vault at Kent State. His clearance of 4.90 meters leads all NCAA Division II competitors and is nearly 10 inches better than the next closest PSAC challenger. That mark is also just shy of his own school record of 4.94m and the automatic qualifier of 5.13m.

The Rock will return to action Jan. 28-29 at the Lake Erie Invite, which will be hosted by Lake Erie College at the GaREAT sports complex in Geneva, Ohio.
