6/12-Whiting dominates - Murphy, Hostetler, Butch, Hewitt, Cave, Pagana impress @ Golden West

Central Dauphin\'s Ryan Whiting continued to dominate his two events with his trip to the Golden West Invitational. In fact, his five good throws in the Shot Put were each good enough for the win, with his best at 68-08.50. He captured the Discus as well, going 191-10, winning by over 13 feet. Janessa Murphy, Great Valley, was a major factor in two events, taking 2nd in the Long Jump with a jump of 19-00.00, and a 3rd place in the 100 dash of 11.76. State AAA Javelin champ Josh Hostetler of Selinsgrove was 3rd in that event, throwing 197-09. Kendall Butch, Butler, was 3rd in the High Jump, clearing 5-05, and was 7th in the afternoon session of the Pole Vault, clearing 11-02. Teammate Emily Chiappina was 12th at 10-04. In the evening session, Latrobe\'s Caitlin Hewitt cleard 11-06 for 5th place in the Pole Vault. Juan Cave, St. Joseph\'s Prep (by way of New Jersey), cleared 6-09 to take 2nd in the High Jump. Jay Pagana, Selinsgrove, was 5th in the Triple Jump, leaping 45-06.75. Joanna Horstman, Downingtown West, took 3rd in the afternoon 800 in 2:16.50. In the evening Miles, Colin Leak of Unionville took 11th in 4:25.36, while Kristen Reed of Upper Perkiomen was 13th in 5:14.47.
