ANNVILLE, Pa. – For the second straight week senior Allie Fies has been named the MAC Swimmer of the Week, while freshman sprinter Danisha Higgs has been named the MAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

For Fies her second weekly honor is the result of another solid week of individual and team performances. In helping women's swimming to a 2-0 week, Fies recorded the top times in 100 free (56.10), 200 free (2:03.30), the 1,000 free (11:20.74), and the 100 fly (1:07.99). She also helped the Lady Lions to a first place finish in the 400 free relay (3:52.58) and the 200 free relay (1:43.17).

This week's honor marks the third of the year for Higgs. In last Friday's Ursinus College Collegeville Indoor Classic, Higgs broke her original record in the 55 meter dash by cutting off an additional four seconds (7.49). She also placed first in the 200 meter dash with her final time of 26.79 seconds.
