Collegeville, Pa. (Jan. 21, 2011) - Friday night saw the Crusader Track and Field team competing in the Collegeville Indoor Classic at Ursinus College.  The evening was highlighted with a school record performance by Stephanie Coleman (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) in the 400m dash and two top ten performances by Amanda Searle (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional) and Jazmyn Vega (reading, Pa./Holy Name) in the Shot Put.

Coleman's time of 1:08.12 qualifies her for the MAC Championship meet in the 400m dash and placed her tenth amongst all other Division III athletes.  Coleman also ran the 55m hurdles and was just 15 hundredths of a second off of her previously established school record.

Searle continued her outstanding freshman season, qualifying for the finals again in shot put finishing in 7th place overall, while Jazmyn Vega threw a new lifetime best in route to qualifying for finals and placing 9th overall.

Dillon Emery (Locustdale, Pa./North Schuylkill) and Will Gerber (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) also had a great evening in the shot put.  The young throwers both set new personal bests, both improving by at a least one foot and Emery breaking his previously held school record. Colin Donovan (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township), in his second race indoors, improved upon his lifetime best in the 3000m by over 35 seconds.

Others establishing new lifetime bests were, Chynelle Washington in the 55m and 200m dashes, Codi-Amanda Herr (East Petersburg, Pa./Hempfield) and Jessica Ciesla (Branchville, NJ/High Point) in the 200m dash, Erin Stone in the 800m run, Taylor Wildermuth in the Long Jump, and Daniel McClean (Somerdale, Pa./Paul VI) and Patrick Evans (Gap, Pa.) in the Long Jump.
