Brenkus bringing Sport Science to SRU

New York Times best-selling author and Emmy Award-winning producer John Brenkus of ESPN's Sport Science will deliver a free lecture at SRU Feb. 2.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – New York Times best-selling author and Emmy Award-winning producer John Brenkus of ESPN's Sport Science will deliver an entertaining and educational lecture at Slippery Rock University Feb. 2.

Brenkus' lecture will take place at 8 p.m. in the multi purpose room of the University Union. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the lecture is free.

Brenkus' largest claim to fame in recent years has been the program Sport Science, which airs on ESPN and regularly makes appearances on the network's hit program Sportscenter.

Brenkus inspires listeners to rise above the competition as he explores the physical and mental challenges faced by the world's top athletes. He will engage the audience by drawing from his creative scientific experiments that test the human body's limits, and by explaining his journey to complete an Ironman Triathlon.

Working closely with some of the greatest athletes on the planet on his award-winning ESPN show, Sport Science, has provided Brenkus an understanding of what it takes to succeed, whether it's with family and friends, in the office, or on the field.
