Newark, De. (Jan. 29, 2011) - On Saturday five members of the Track and Field team traveled to the University of Delaware for the annual Thomson Invitational. Many great programs across all levels were at the meet making for some outstanding competition.
Amanda Searle (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional), fresh off of her school record throw Friday night, was able to come with in eight centimeters of that new mark and earn a seventh place finish against some of the highest rated throwers in the region and country. Freshman
Jessica Weiss (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) and
Stephanie Coleman (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) were both able to establish school records in the 60m dash and 60m hurdles respectively, while
Kate Wimberg (Galloway, NJ/Sacred Heart) hit the MAC qualifying standard and seasons best with her toss in the weight throw.
The Crusaders will again be at multiple meets this weekend as the throwers head to Widener University Friday evening and will then join the full team in action on Saturday for the Frank Colden Invitational at Ursinus College.
