Allentown, Pa. (Jan. 28, 2011) - The Alvernia University Track and Field teams was in action Friday night  at Muhlenberg College.  Three school records were broken, including Amanda Searle (Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Regional) breaking her own shot put record, Erin Stone (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) breaking the mark in the 800m run and Colin Donovan (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) resetting his team record in the 3000m Run.

Searle led a dominant women's throws effort as she placed second behind only the current MAC conference leader and the Crusaders placed four in the top ten and three in the top five in the event.  Kate Wimberg (Galloway, NJ/Sacred Heart) recorded a season-best and placed fourth, Jazmyn Vega (Reading, Pa./Holy Name) was only centimeters off her lifetime best, placing fifth and Alex Stengel (Avondale, Pa./Avon Grove) was less than ten centimeters away from reaching the MAC standard with a seasons best throw, finishing ninth.

Stone, in just her second 800m race was able to eclipse the school record in the 800m run, while narrowly missing the MAC qualifying mark and Stephanie Coleman (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) easily won her heat of the 55m dash setting a lifetime best in the process.

The other school record set on Friday evening was Donovan in the 3000m run.  Donovan had another huge improvement, lowering his lifetime best by another 20 seconds.  Will Gerber (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) was also able to establish another huge lifetime best adding over a foot onto his previous best shot put mark.
