ALLIANCE, Ohio –
In a non-scoring meet with many of its top competitors sidelined for the weekend tilt, Allegheny used the opportunity to highlight other parts of its lineup at the 2011 Jim Wuske Invitational. Junior All-American Lauren Butler delivered the top individual performance on Saturday after finishing third overall in the shot put with a throw of 39'7”.
Senior Beth Muller, who has developed into one of the top sprinters in the North Coast Athletic Conference, authored a strong double after finishing seventh overall in the 400m and eighth in the 200m.
Outside of Butler, rookie Deedee Evans was the only other Gator to bag a top-five finish. The freshman standout finished fifth overall in the triple jump after closing just off last week's pace with a mark of 33'10.25”.
Allegheny also received notable performances from rookie Sarah Moss, who finished sixth in the high jump; sophomore Sara Mitrano, who took sixth in the 3000m; and senior Angela Dyer, who finished eighth overall in the 500m.
