SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Former Slippery Rock University women's basketball standout Beth Dansberger Snyder will be in the spotlight during pregame and halftime ceremonies Saturday when The Rock entertains Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division rival Indiana (Pa.) in a 1 p.m. game in Morrow Field House.

She will be honored during a pregame reception set to start at noon in the Field House and will have her SRU jersey retired during a halftime ceremony.

To attend the reception, RSVP to Bill Richter at wrichter@srufoundation.org or call 724.738.2387.

Dansberger Snyder was a four-year member of The Rock program from 1992-96 and currently ranks sixth on the school's career scoring list with 1,343 points and eighth on the career rebounding list with 575.

She also ranks fourth in games started (100), fifth in career games played (106), seventh in career points per game (12.6) and 10th in career rebounds per game (5.4).

Dansberger Snyder earned first-team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference honors as a junior in 1994-95 and, as a senior, helped lead The Rock to a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference runner-up finish and a berth in the NCAA Division II East Regional tournament.

She is the fourth former Rock women's basketball standout to have her jersey retired by the University. Kory Fielitz Rorabaugh, Jodi Gault and Jan Kasnevich were each honored at events during the 2009-10 season.

Kathy "Pebbles" Lisman Wood will be honored as part of the Feb. 26 home game vs. Edinboro (1 p.m. tipoff).
