
Several Pennsylvania high school track and field athletes recorded personal bests at meets held during the week of April 20-26.
Gunnar Lubawski (Pittsburgh Central Catholic) threw 139-9 in the discus at Plum v. PCC/OCC v. McKeesport HS on April 22, improving from his previous best of 85-6. The sophomore's mark ranks #142 in Pennsylvania and #20 among sophomores statewide. Lubawski also set a personal record in the shot put with 32-9, up from 32-2.
Evan Lonzinski (Lakeland) ran 15.74 in the 110-meter hurdles at the Wyalusing Lasagna Invitational on April 24, lowering his previous mark of 17.82 from April 2026. The sophomore finished third out of 33 competitors and ranks #149 in the state and #20 among sophomores. Lonzinski also recorded a personal best in the 300 hurdles with 43.71, improving from 44.89.
Noah Huxta (Dayspring Christian Academy) won the 3200 meters in 9:30.46 at the 18th Cy Fritz Open at Millersville on April 24, breaking his previous personal record of 10:01.60 from April 2026. The junior's time set a school record and ranks #26 in Pennsylvania and #8 among juniors.
Mason Shunk (North East) cleared 6-8 in the high jump at D10-R5 Union City, Iroquois, North East on April 21, improving from his previous best of 6-4. The sophomore won the event and ranks #7 in the state and #2 among sophomores.
Alexander McKinney (Nazareth Area) ran 10.84 in the 100 meters at Nazareth vs Northampton on April 22, lowering his previous time of 11.24. McKinney won the event and ranks #48 in Pennsylvania.
Dane Hannevig (Pine Grove Area) jumped 21-10.5 in the long jump at the Blue Mountain Invitational on April 24, improving from 20-8 set in April 2026. The senior won the event with 26 competitors and ranks #63 in the state.
Joseph Lawless (Boyertown) ran 21.94 in the 200 meters at the 18th Cy Fritz Open at Millersville on April 24, improving from 22.72 set in April 2026. The junior finished third out of 43 competitors and ranks #35 in Pennsylvania and #9 among juniors.
Evan Early (South Fayette) threw 48-6 in the shot put at the South Fayette Invitational on April 25, improving from his previous best of 44-9.5. The sophomore finished second out of 48 competitors and ranks #98 in the state and #8 among sophomores.
Ian Bucalo (Susquehannock) ran 4:27.75 in the 1600 meters at the Ray Geesey Track and Field Invitational on April 24, lowering his previous time of 4:37.39 from April 2026. The sophomore finished eighth out of 34 competitors and ranks #114 in Pennsylvania and #14 among sophomores. Bucalo also set a personal record in the 800 meters with 2:07.02, improving from 2:07.55.
Noah Koepher (Moon Area) cleared 14-4 in the pole vault at MAC Meet at Shenango on April 22, improving from 13-8 set in April 2026. The senior won the event and set a school record while ranking #15 in Pennsylvania and #7 among seniors.
