With Penn Relays officially behind us now, that marks a change in the season where it officially becomes championship season as the athletes from PA are starting to peak with districts and states only a few weeks away. We wanted to take a look back and honor some of the individuals and relay teams that shined the brightest this past weekend.
Thursday:
To kick things off on Thursday, we had some field COA performances first in the shot put, Isabella Furgison of Selinsgrove placed 2nd overall with a throw of 14.08m or 46-2.5 feet.
Girls Javelin:
Ava Flicker (Perkiomen Valley 01) 1st place 49.51m or 162-5 feet
Eliana Schneider (Cedar Crest 03) 3rd place 46.52m or 152-7 feet
Girls Long Jump:
Jade Webb (Norristown 01) 2nd place 5.83m or 19-1.5 feet
Aydriane Bowden (Kennett 01) 4th place 5.79m or 19-0 feet
Girls Pole Vault:
Maddie Fuhrmeister (Central Bucks West 01) 1st place 4.08m or 13-4.5 feet
Viola Wilent (Lower Merion 01) 2nd place 4.03m or 13-2.5 feet
Aleah Morgante (Grove City Area 10) 3rd place 3.83m or 12-6.75 feet
Friday:
Boys DMR:
The boys' DMR was one of the most impressive performances from PA to ever happen at Penn Relays, with 4 of the top 5 teams coming from the Keystone State.

Lower Merion 01 4th place 9:57.78 (PA #5 All-Time)
La Salle College 12 5th place 9:58.81 (PA #6 All-Time)
Boys Mile:
Joseph Murphy (Hershey 03) 2nd place 4:13.24 (57.03 last 400m)
Boys 3k:
Jonah Montagnese (Quaker Valley 07) 2nd place 8:19.62 (57.63 last 400m)
Girls 4x800m Relay:
Penn Charter 2nd place 8:49.73 (State Record)
Girls 3k:
Julia Kelly (Downingtown West 01) 3rd place 9:27.76 (PA #3 All-Time)
Boys Shot Put:
Colin Sturges (Perkiomen Valley 01) 2nd place 19.37m or 63-6.75 feet
Boy High Jump:
Darius Reid (Upper Perkiomen) 2nd place 2.09m or 6-10.25 feet
Boys Long Jump:
Frank Bediako (Bensalem 01) 2nd place 7.40m or 24-3.5 feet
Saturday:
Girls 5k Race Walk:
Shyan Patel (Germantown Academy) 3rd place 26:14.59
4x400m COA:
Arguably, the most impressive performance from the entire weekend was Episcopal Academy making the COA final in the HS boys 4x400m relay. The quartet ran 3:15.08 in the Inter-Ac final with an insane 46.38 anchor leg from Abaas Hunter and then came back just a few hours later to finish 6th in the rainy, wet, and cold final with a 3:18.13 and another sub 47 split from Hunter.
