Complete Results

KENT, Ohio –
Competing in its final meet before the 2011 NCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, Allegheny rested some of its key personnel and moved others to off events, while some team members used the opportunity to improve seed positions ahead of next week's postseason event.

The Gators authored several solid efforts, including a great run in the 5000m by senior Chris Marker. A reigning All-American in the 5k, Marker continued the quest to top form after finishing fourth overall with a time of 14:46.29. Part of a four-man group that quickly broke from the rest of the field, Marker was the top Division III finisher in the event.

Andrew Mahone and Mike Vlah, the squad's top pair of middle-distance standouts, followed up last week's record-shattering performances with a strong effort in the 1000m. Mahone finished seventh overall in 2:31.02, while Vlah, who set a personal record in the mile last week, closed just behind in eighth with a clip of 2:34.61.

Allegheny pieced together a nice contingent in the 3000m which was led by Ryan Sullivan. The senior completed the circuit in 8:48.04 to finish 24th overall. Bobby Over delivered the surprise performance of the day with a tremendous personal effort that resulted in a closing time of 8:49.11. Junior Pat McLaughlin (8:58.05) and senior Matt Brush (9:03.59) also factored into the race for the Blue and Gold.
