Seven New School Records Set At DuCharme Invitational

COMPLETE RESULTS

Carlisle, Pa. (Feb. 19, 2011)
- In the Crusader's final meet before the MAC Championship meet, the team showed they were ready to be at their best at the most important time of the season.  Seven new school records were established at the DuCharme Invitational at Dickinson, with two more athletes punching their tickets to the MAC Championship meet.

Chynelle Washington broke school records in the 55m and 200m dashed, qualifying for the MAC Championships in the former and placing 6th in the same event.  Erin Stone (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) ran a lifetime best in the 800m run, breaking her own school record and qualifying for the MAC Championship meet. Stone also teamed with Stephanie Coleman (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove), Codi-Amanda Herr (East Petersburg, Pa./Hempfield) and Jessica Weiss (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) to break the school records in the 4x200m and 4x400m relays.  The quartet placed 4th and 6th respectiviely in the relays at the meet.  Coleman lowered her PR and school record in the 55m hurdles, qualifying for the finals and finishing 8th overall.

The other school record broken on Saturday was from Dillon Emery (Locustdale, Pa./North Schuylkill) in the men's shot put.  Emery had two of his three throws over his previous school record and improved his personal best by just under another foot.

Multiple other Crusaders set new personal records including Weiss in the 55m and 200m dash, whose 55m time was also under the previous school record, Jess Ciesla (Branchville, NJ/High Point) in the 55m dash and Jazmyn Vega (Reading, Pa./Holy Name) in the shot put.

The MAC Championships are next up for the Crusaders.  The Championship meet will take place on Saturday at Lehigh University's Rauch Field House. The action gets underway at 10am, with the 4x400m relay concluding the event at 6:00.
