READING, Pa. – After a very successful winter campaign, the track and field teams now have their eyes set on this year's conference championship meet, which will be held at Lehigh University this Saturday.

Both squads will feature a variety of athletes that will be competing for medals this weekend. On the men's team Justin Gewirtz will especially look to bring home his first indoor gold medal in the high jump event. Having already provisionally qualified for the NCAA championship meet, Gewirtz is hoping to match his program best of 6-07.50 feet.

For the women's team freshman sprinter Danisha Higgs has been sensational throughout her indoor collegiate debut. Currently the program record holder in the 55 meter dash, Higgs' record setting time of 7.45 seconds leads all sprinters going into Saturday's meet. She is also amongst the top runners in both the 400 and 200 meter dash as well.

Also look for sophomore Taylor Kutz to make an impact in the 55 meter dash, after recording a season best time of 7.85 seconds. In the men's field events Dane Canonico is at the front of the group in the shot put event, while Clark Runciman will be the Lions top pole-vaulter.

Mackenize Miller will make her final indoor championship appearance this weekend in a variety of events, including the indoor pentathlon, the 55 meter hurdles, and the triple jump. On the track Oshane Rennie is set to compete in the men's 55 meter hurdles after finishing the year with a time of 8.34 seconds. Freshman Sean Potter is also sitting amongst the top-10 sprinters in the 55 meter dash with his career best mark of 6.82 seconds.

The festivities will get started early on Saturday morning with the men's 55 meter hurdles and the women's pentathlon scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
