SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The three-game baseball series between Slippery Rock University and Shippensburg University scheduled for this weekend has been postponed. Both coaches hope to be able to reschedule the games at a later date.

The Rock, unbeaten after four games, and Red Raiders, winless after nine games, were originally scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday and a single nine-inning game Sunday at the Ripken Baseball facility in Aberedeen, Md., but those plans changed due to a scheduling conflict at the facility. Sunday's game was then moved to Shippensburg.

All three games were then postponed Thursday due to the forecast of inclement weather in the Aberdeen and Shippensburg areas.

The Rock, ranked 19th in the first National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II national poll and 22nd in the latest American Baseball Coaches Association national poll, are now scheduled to return to the diamond March 4 with a single game each vs. Assumption (Mass.) and Minnesota State.

Those games will be the first of 11 games the Green and White will play in the Lakeland-Tampa area of Florida as part of their annual spring-break trip to the Sunshine State.

SRU is scheduled to open its home schedule March 18 with a 1 p.m. doubleheader vs. defending Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference champion California (Pa.) at Jack Critchfield Park.
