SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's basketball team will face Cheyney in the semifinals of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference tournament Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Indiana University (Pa.).

The Rock, who entered the playoffs as the No. 3 seed in the west, advanced to the PSAC Final Four with a 51-45 win over No. 2 seed Mercyhurst Tuesday night in Erie. Cheyney, which secured the No. 4 seed in the east with a win over top-seeded Mansfield in the final regular season game, upset the Mountaineers again in the quarterfinals Tuesday.

The other two teams that will compete in the Final Four are Indiana (Pa.), the top seed in the west, and East Stroudsburg, the No. 3 seed in the east. IUP defeated a pesky California (Pa.) team 73-68 Tuesday, while ESU upset Kutztown on the road, 83-70. The Crimson Hawks and the Warriors will tip off 30 minutes after the conclusion of the SRU-Cheyney game.

The winners of Friday's semifinal games will match up Saturday in the title game at 7 p.m.

Slippery Rock will enter the semifinals with an overall record of 20-9, while Cheyney comes in at 19-8. The Wolves posted an 8-6 record in PSAC-East play this season, while SRU went 9-5 in the west.

Tickets for the semifinals can be purchased at the door at the rate of $14 for adults and $5 for students. Those tickets are good for both games Friday and the title game Saturday. Championship-only tickets can be purchased Saturday for $8 for adults and $3 for students. Students at all four participating institutions will be admitted free to all games with valid ID.
