Gewirtz and Higgs Earn Top-10 Finishes on Day 2 of ECAC's

NEW YORK, N.Y. - On the final day of the ECAC Indoor Championship, senior high jumper Justin Gewirtz leaped his way to a second place finish, while freshman sprinter Danisha Higgs earned an eighth place finish in the 200 meter dash Saturday afternoon at the New Balance Armory Track and Field Center.

Higgs' final time of 25.80 seconds broke the program record for the second time in a week.  Higgs will end the indoor season with the all-time record in 55 and 200 meter dash, and was also a member of the record setting 4x200 relay team that broke the school record yesterday.

For Gewirtz his final jump of 6-06.75 did not mark a career high for the senior, but with his record setting jump of 6-09.00 that he recorded at MAC's, Gewirtz still remains in the hunt for a spot at this year's national championship meet in Ohio.  Going into this weekend's championship, Gewirtz's record setting jump still ranks in the top-5 nationally.  Beating out Gewirtz for the top spot in the high jump was Justin Turner from Gwynedd-Mercy College.
