
Pennsylvania high school track and field athletes posted personal records across multiple events during recent competition.
Gunnar Lubawski (Pittsburgh Central Catholic) threw 139-9 in the discus at Plum v. PCC/OCC v. McKeesport HS on April 22, improving from his previous best of 85-6. The sophomore ranks #142 in Pennsylvania and #20 among sophomores statewide, winning the event among 11 competitors. Lubawski also set a personal record in the shot put, improving from 32-2 to 32-9.
Evan Lonzinski (Lakeland) ran 15.74 in the 110-meter hurdles at the Wyalusing Lasagna Invitational on April 24, bettering his previous mark of 17.82 from April 2026. The sophomore places #149 in the state and #20 among sophomores, finishing third among 33 competitors. Lonzinski also recorded a personal best in the 300-meter hurdles, improving from 44.89 to 43.71.
Noah Huxta (Dayspring Christian Academy) ran 9:30.46 in the 3200 meters at the 18th Cy Fritz Open at Millersville on April 24, improving from 10:01.60 set in April 2026. The junior's mark established a school record and ranks #26 in Pennsylvania and #8 among juniors, winning the race among 36 competitors.
Mason Shunk (North East) cleared 6-8 in the high jump at D10-R5 Union City, Iroquois, North East on April 21, improving from his previous best of 6-4. The sophomore ranks #7 in Pennsylvania and #2 among sophomores, winning the event among four competitors.
Alexander McKinney (Nazareth Area) ran 10.84 in the 100 meters at Nazareth vs Northampton on April 22, improving from 11.24. The athlete ranks #48 among 7,500 Pennsylvania competitors, winning the race among six competitors.
Dane Hannevig (Pine Grove Area) jumped 21-10.5 in the long jump at the Blue Mountain Invitational on April 24, improving from 20-8 set in April 2026. The senior ranks #63 in Pennsylvania and #44 among seniors, winning the event among 26 competitors.
Joseph Lawless (Boyertown) ran 21.94 in the 200 meters at the 18th Cy Fritz Open at Millersville on April 24, improving from 22.72 set in April 2026. The junior ranks #35 in Pennsylvania and #9 among juniors, placing third among 43 competitors.
Evan Early (South Fayette) threw 48-6 in the shot put at the South Fayette Invitational on April 25, improving from 44-9.5. The sophomore ranks #98 in Pennsylvania and #8 among sophomores, placing second among 48 competitors.
Ian Bucalo (Susquehannock) ran 4:27.75 in the 1600 meters at the Ray Geesey Track and Field Invitational on April 24, improving from 4:37.39 set in April 2026. The sophomore ranks #114 in Pennsylvania and #14 among sophomores, placing eighth among 34 competitors. Bucalo also set a personal record in the 800 meters, improving from 2:07.55 to 2:07.02.
